The Interactive Learning Garden  at the Kaukauna Library is coming  along beautifully!

It will open to the public with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, Oct 4th at 9:00am.

There will be events to follow, including a concert by Tom Pease at 3:30pm.

Make sure to come out and bring the family for some fun!

Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years leadership in the building construction industry required

Minimum of 3 years Carpentry, framing, post-frame construction, or equivalent experience is preferred

Demonstrated ability to take initiative and provide leadership

Ability to measure human productivity and improve effectiveness

Embrace accountability and ownership

Demonstrated organization and planning skills

Available to work a flexible schedule

Ability to take direction

Produce quality work in an efficient manner

Agree to comply with all of our safety processes and procedures

Willingness to maintain and operate construction tools in a safe and proper manner

Ability to operate specialized safety equipment efficiently and effectively

Standard weight lifting requirements – 50 pounds, with occasional lifting up to 100 pounds

Capable of working in a physically demanding environment and at various heights

Possess good communication skills – both written and verbal

Possession of a valid Driver’s License is preferred

Degree from an approved college or university or construction program with work experience

Duties

Provide professional leadership by creating a safe, organized work environment that is productive and enjoyable and treat all employees and customers with dignity and respect.

Ensure crew members, including new hires, are fully trained and follow all safety and construction procedures.

Follow Construction Procedure Manual and Training Manual

Follow Best Building Practices

Communicate with the customer on all contractual aspects of the project

Organize materials and plan for the daily activities

Self motivated with the ability to trouble shoot and to work through problems

Willing to travel with some over night stay

Display positive attitude

Lead by personal example and require cooperation by all crew employees in timely starts and stops.

Perform and promote safe and proper use and maintenance of all tools and equipment

Understand and enforce all company policies and procedures

Complete all required paperwork

Accurate reporting of time worked

Vehicle mileage report

Qualifications

Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Must posses good communication skills. Must possess good mathematical skills. Must possess good time management skills. Must be proficient in reading blueprints and drawings. Must have construction background.

Degree from an approved college or university or at least 3 -5 years of specific experience and/or training related to the essential functions of the job or equivalent combination of education and training.

Duties

Read blueprints and specifications in order to prepare for projects.

Communicate with subcontractors and vendors.

Travel to jobsites.

Supervise crew and other trades.

Communicate with work crew.

Make sure all safety procedures are followed

Ability to read, analyze and interpret project specifications, technical procedures and government regulations to effectively work on the project.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in some situations where only limited standardization exists, interpret a variety of instructions furnished written, oral diagram or schedule form.
